Crowns and Bridges

What Are Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns, as the name suggests, are crown-like or cap-like prosthetic devices permanently cemented over damaged teeth. Besides strengthening damaged teeth, crowns are also used to improve the appearance, shape, or alignment of mildly damaged teeth. Dental caps or crowns are an affordable solution to beautify your smile.

Who Needs Dental Crowns?

We recommend our quintessential dental crowns to people who:

  • Have cracked, chipped, broken, or fractured teeth.
  • Have large dental cavities.
  • Have a small teeth structure remaining.
  • Have severely discolored teeth.
  • Have poorly shaped and misaligned teeth.
  • Have minor gaps and interdental spaces.
  • Have undergone an extensive root canal treatment.

How Do We Veil Dental Imperfections With Crowns?

Our professional team of dentists complete the dental crown procedure in two clinical visits. The first appointment with us involves taking X-rays and closely observing the structure of your tooth and severity of the damage. We understand if there is a need for any other treatment before starting the process, such as treating any infection. We will take care of that before implementing the dental crown procedure. During the dental crown procedure, we numb the area with local anesthesia to ensure you are comfortable during the procedure. We then create space for the crown by filing and reshaping the tooth. Once the tooth is filed, we take the impression of the tooth and let our orthodontist accurately prepare the custom-made crown. All these functions in the first appointment last for 30 minutes to an hour. We do provide a temporary crown for the period between the two visits. Once the crown is ready, we schedule the second appointment to fit the custom-made crown over the tooth and secure it in place with a permanent bonding solution.

What Are Dental Bridges?

Tooth bridges or dental bridges are a series of artificial teeth and crowns. This framework is ideal to bridge the gap in a mouth caused due to single or multiple missing teeth, or due to rotated and shifted teeth. The bridge abutments (artificial teeth) are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the gaps with the help of crowns.

When Do You Need Dental Bridges?

We suggest our efficacious dental bridges to individuals who:

  • Have one or more missing teeth due to damage or trauma.
  • Have gaps due to tooth extraction.

How Do We Fill Gaps With Bridges?

The tooth bridging process is much similar to that of a dental crown. We complete the procedure in two visits. Just like for crowns, we take an impression of your teeth to fix the bridge framework in place. One adjacent tooth on either side of the gap is reshaped to anchor the supporting crowns in place.

How Long Do Crowns And Bridges Last?

With proper care and maintenance, dental crowns can last up to 15 years, whereas dental bridges can last for 10 years.

We also provide crown and bridge replacement services. We are here for all your dental crown and bridge needs to let you achieve a flawless and complete smile.
