Veneers

Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that concerns itself with providing you with a confident smile by veiling any aesthetic imperfections. Dental veneers are one of those procedures. Whether you have chipped your teeth or have gaps between your teeth, we can help you take care of it with dental veneers. The prime reason why dental veneers are popular is that you still retain the natural quality of your smile while you overcome any imperfections with a simple dental procedure.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers or porcelain veneers are thin shells that have high customization value and can be applied to an entire range of shades to improve the appearance of your teeth. These shells are custom-made to cover the frontal surface of your teeth. Dental veneers consist of the highly impressive, stain-repellent porcelain or of a composite resin material. Our dentists will suggest the most appropriate veneer material that is suitable for your dental health.

Why Do I Need Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are recommended for those facing any of the following imperfections:

  • Teeth discoloration. Customizable veneers allow you to choose between a variety of brighter, white shades
  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Misaligned or unevenly shaped teeth or gaps between teeth

What Happens During the Procedure?

Getting dental veneers is not something that can be achieved within a single visit. It is a methodical process divided into various steps.

The Consultation

For the procedure to begin, it is imperative that our dental team has an understanding of what you intend to achieve with the procedure. Our dental team will carefully assess the condition of your teeth and determine the suitability of the procedure. Only then will they proceed with the cosmetic treatment.

The Preparation

It is essential that our dentists shred off some of the frontal section of your enamel (in thickness), since that’s where the veneer shell rests. The shredding of the enamel is hardly a cause of worry as local anesthesia is used in order to numb the region. Now, since veneers are customized and designed to suit your tooth structure, our dentists will prepare an impression of your tooth to determine the size and shape of the veneers. Once our dentists have the model, the model is sent to the dental laboratory, where your customized veneers are constructed. We’ll provide you with temporary veneers until your custom set is ready.

The Bonding

Our dentist will place the veneer to determine the accuracy of the fit. After a couple of adjustments, the dentist then tailors the veneer to give it the shade of the cement that is to be utilized. Our dental professionals then proceed to clean, polish, and etch the surface of your tooth, as this enables them to achieve a desirable bonding process. Before placing the veneer on the surface of the tooth, a certain amount of special cement is first applied to provide the requisite adhesive effect. To get the cement to harden quickly, the dentist will also utilize a special laser beam. The dentist then begins to wrap up the procedure with the removal of excess cement and the evaluation of your bite. The veneers are then placed and the dentist will conduct any necessary adjustments required to ensure your visit is a success.
